Infrastructure Engineer

Bitdefender is now looking for a Infrastructure Engineer to join our team in Bucharest.

  • Provide system administration services for Linux / UNIX / Windows infrastructure and development systems (scripting, loading machines, system configuration);
  • Troubleshoot Linux / Unix / Windows systems identifying hardware and software issues
  • Troubleshoot application errors, operating system(s), server hardware, network communications and storage allocation issues
  • Build, configure, monitor and maintain storage environments
  • Configure, troubleshoot and support servers, load balancers, storage arrays, network attached storage, network equipment and related peripherals
  • Ensure hardware infrastructure performs as required
  • Assume other duties / projects as they arise and be responsive to the needs of the department
  • Actively contribute to all ongoing and new internal projects
  • Keeping up-to-date with the latest position related technologies
  • Ensuring that operational procedures are up to date and effectively applied
  • Meet the SLAs.

Technical Requirements:


  • Deploying, configuring, monitoring and maintaining Linux / Unix / Windows servers globally, across multiple datacenters
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot Linux / Unix / Windows operating system functionality to resolution of incidents
  • Knowledge of shared storage technologies including SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS, etc.
  • Understand storage concepts (VMFS, datastores, LUNs, Fibre Channel, etc)
  • Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including understanding TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, subnetting, and Load Balancers
  • Experience in scripting languages like Bash, Python, Perl
  • Experience with open source monitoring tools Zabbix, Nagios, Cacti
  • Virtualization technologies like VMware, KVM in a datacenter environment is a plus
  • Systems and Software architecture experience is a plus




Other Requirements:


  • 5+ years of strong experience in Linux / Unix / Windows systems administration, provisioning, configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Due to the high-availability nature of the environment the role will require after-hours and occasional weekend work to implement patches and/or perform system maintenance
  • Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation
  • Cooperating efficiently with other department leaders for improved IT and overall team performance
  • Good communication skills, able to share information and clarify business specifications into technical terminology;
  • Result-oriented and good diagnostic skills.
  • Efficient time management and team player
  • Relevant university degree in IT or an apprenticeship as an IT specialist
